Motorsport airbrush artwork by Jason Fowler.

The airbrush is an amazing instrument and in the right hands can create virtually any texture or image.

It is also very difficult to use to its full potential and the work on this website is a result of 20 years experience and thousands of airbrushed helmets. Painting complex designs and murals onto helmets meant that a move into bespoke artwork was a natural progression, and the techniques learned in the custom-painting industry mean that these paintings are unique in the world of motorsport artwork.

Each painting is produced using countless hours of painstaking work with meticulous attention to correct colour-matching and perspective to produce photorealistic images.

Since 1991, JLF Designs have been at the fore-front of high-quality helmet paintwork.

Jason started painting helmets for his motocross colleagues and competitors, partly as a hobby and partly to fund his racing.

At the time Jason was working as a graphic designer in the exhibition industry, but his growing reputation for helmet paintwork meant that he was having to use his weekends and holiday time to get the helmets done.

This convinced Jason and his wife Shirley to launch JLF Designs as a professional helmet paintwork service for race teams and competitors. 20 years later, JLF Designs is one of the leading paintwork specialists supplying designs to drivers in F1, IRL, MotoGP, DTM, WTCC,BTCC and most other forms of motorsport..
